Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Catering Coordinator to join our team! As a Catering Coordinator, you will be responsible for supporting the sales team in achieving revenue goals and providing exceptional customer service to clients. Specific requirements include the ability to effectively communicate with guests in a friendly and positive manner, the ability to meet/exceed client needs and resolve complaints. This is a dynamic role that requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. About Our Property

 

The Higgins Hotel & Conference Center’s name reflects the contributions of the extraordinary entrepreneur, Andrew Higgins, who designed and built over 20,000 boats in New Orleans that were used in every major amphibious assault of World War II.


Conveniently located directly across the street from The National WWII Museum, the hotel offers 230 era-inspired guest rooms and specialty suites, premium amenities, full-service restaurant, lounge, and a rooftop bar, as well as a second-floor conference center with more than 18,000 square feet of meeting and event space.

 

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and execute all aspects of catering events, from initial inquiry to post-event follow-up
  • Work closely with clients to understand their event needs and provide personalized service throughout the planning process
  • Assist in menu planning, including customization and dietary accommodations
  • Coordinate with various departments to ensure seamless execution of events, including banquet, culinary, and audiovisual teams
  • Manage event timelines, contracts, and logistics to ensure smooth operations
  • Provide exceptional customer service, addressing client inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally
  • Assist in the preparation of event orders, setup sheets, and other necessary documentation
  • Contribute to the success of the sales and catering team by achieving or exceeding revenue goals

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management or related field preferred
  • Previous experience in event planning or catering coordination
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on delivering high-quality experiences
  • Proficiency in event management software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
