Overview

Temporary role that will be reassessed after a 90 -day trial period.

This role will coordinate, balance, and block the hotel’s guest room inventory and act as a liaison between the Housekeeping, Front Office, Engineering, Sales, and Reservations department regarding the status and distribution of all guest rooms and group room blocks

Responsibilities

· CUSTOMER SERVICE: Meet service quality standards that affect guest satisfaction; respond to guest questions or problems in a timely, professional manner.

· WORK HABITS: Meet the hotel standards for work procedures, dress, grooming, attendance, and punctuality; report to work and return from breaks on time; give advance notice when absence is anticipated; require typical amount of supervision; accept work assignments without complaints.

· PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT: Accept opportunities to learn new skills, improve performance or cross-train for other hotel positions; solve routine problems that occur on the job; ask questions when not sure how to complete something; learn new skills as quickly as most others in the same job.

· SAFETY AND SECURITY: Be alert to hazards and responsible in carrying out hotel’s safety, security, and emergency procedures; suggest ways to improve safety conditions that reduce or prevent accidents and injuries; participate on safety committee or other special projects for safety; actively seek and report potential security risks or hazardous conditions.

· TELEPHONE OPERATIONS: Understands telephone procedures and can operate the system with a minimum of service complaints; occasionally receives compliments from guests; responds promptly and makes few errors on guest requests; is courteous and speaks in a clear friendly tone of voice.

 

· Constantly. Answers telephone calls and processes requests and messages promptly.

· Constantly. Maintain work areas neat and organized.

· Constantly. Report all unsafe conditions immediately.

· Constantly. Coordinate reservations, room blocks, and contracts for large groups.

· Constantly. Review reservations, identify potential problems, resolving any issues and errors.

· Frequently. Assist guest with services and amenities offered by hotel.

 

 

 

· Frequently. Assist with on-site

meetings as necessary.

· Frequently. Complete other duties as assigned by supervisor to include cross training.

Qualifications

· Prefer prior Reservations or Front Office experience.

· Ability to communicate effectively with the public and other employees.

· High School graduate or G.E.D. equivalent, additional education preferred.

· Computer literacy and knowledge of spreadsheet programming preferred (30 wpm)

· Prefer previous high volume switchboard/telephone experience.

· Competent organizational skills.

· Read, write and speak English fluently
