Overview

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Restaurant General Manager to join our team at ¡VIVA! an exciting new restaurant by award-winning chef Ray Garcia, located in the Newport Beachside Resort which will relaunch as The Sunny, Miami's new premier beachside retreat opening in late 2024.

 

As the Assistant General Manager (AGM), you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of our restaurant, while delivering exceptional guest experiences and supporting our team.

 

¡VIVA! Miami offers a vibrant fusion of flavors, innovation, and artistry that embodies Miami's dynamic food scene, while thoughtfully honoring the traditions, techniques, and cultural heritage that define authentic Mexican cuisine.

 

The future Sunny in the heart of Sunny Isles Beach is poised to redefine the beach getaway experience offering a perfect blend of rich history and unparalleled amenities. The resort will feature 339 spacious guest rooms, an eclectic private art collection, six food and beverage outlets, a fitness center, spa & salon, ocean-front pool with tiki bar and fire pits, beach club, and over 22,000 square feet of event space, including a unique oceanfront terrace. 

 

 

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Restaurant General Manager in leading and managing the daily operations of our restaurant, ensuring high standards of service and guest satisfaction
  • Create a welcoming and memorable dining experience for guests, going above and beyond to exceed their expectations
  • Develop and train a team of talented individuals, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment
  • Monitor and maintain food quality, presentation, and consistency to uphold our reputation for culinary excellence
  • Implement effective marketing and sales strategies to attract guests and increase revenue
  • Monitor financial performance, control costs, and optimize profitability
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations
  • Stay updated with industry trends and make recommendations for menu enhancements and improvements

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a leadership role within a high-volume restaurant or hospitality environment.
  • Strong knowledge of food and beverage operations, including wine and cocktail programs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a passion for delivering outstanding guest service.
  • Ability to lead and manage a diverse team while fostering a positive work culture.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with a focus on attention to detail.
  • Proficient in restaurant management software (POS systems, scheduling tools, etc.).
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
