Have you worked your way through the ranks as a deckhand or attended a merchant academy because you love the open sea? You can see the world and enjoy the outdoors while you work if you join our team as a boat captain. You can use your knowledge of maritime laws and procedures to safely travel national and international waters. This is an excellent opportunity if you are an experienced boat officer and want to use and grow your strong communication skills, sharp eye for details and responsible nature while sailing  the oceans blue.

We’re looking for two full-time Captains for our Rum Runner boat. This candidate would work 3 - 4 days per week for our Islamorada Resort Collection! Candidates must be upbeat, friendly, reliable, have extensive knowledge of local waterways and a love for the water. Your main purpose is to operate our 37FT water taxi pontoon boat, interacting with resort guests while ensuring their safety. The water taxi will be shuttling resort guests to and from three of our resort properties. You’ll have the opportunity to contribute to the organization’s success in serving our guests in a fun and exciting way.

A Day in Your Life Might Include

• Safely operate and navigate the Rum Runner in various water conditions.
• Ensure the safety of Guests and mate on board
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the Rum Runner
• Perform routine maintenance checks on the Rum Runner
• Manage emergency situations effectively
• Provide excellent customer service to guests
• Maintain logs and records of daily activities, safety drills, etc.
• Oversee loading and unloading of guests

• Must have a USCG Master Captain’s License - 25 ton or above
• Firm knowledge of marine craft communication, signaling and navigation systems
• CPR or related first aid certifications required
• Proficient in emergency operations on water
• Ability to manage a team effectively
• Basic mechanical boat repair knowledge
